After years spent in the shadow of Discord, the veteran of gaming communication is back in force with an update that will make noise. TeamSpeak 6.0 arrives with a complete overhaul that could well redistribute the cards in the market of messaging apps intended for gamers.

First thing that jumps out at you: the design has been completely revised. Bye bye the somewhat austere interface, now make way for a modern visual experience. The menus are more intuitive, the icons more readable, in short we feel that the team wanted to make the application more welcoming without sacrificing the functional aspect that has made its reputation. The interface now offers user insights in channels with their avatars, even when the channel is minimized. A small detail that changes everything for daily navigation. The typography has also been overhauled, with the ability to customize fonts via developer settings.

But the real star of this update is of course the long-awaited arrival of the screen sharing. And I might as well tell you that they didn’t do things by halves. Yes, I’m talking to you here about streaming in 1440p/Source, 60 FPS totally fluid. Additionally, the bitrate is customizable and you can do camera and screen sharing, so you no longer have to juggle between TeamSpeak and other apps to show your screen during your gaming sessions or meetings.

In short, everything is natively integrated and it works perfectly.

Another major novelty, the system of Communities. The idea is simple but very cool because you can now rent and manage your own TeamSpeak server directly from your myTeamSpeak account.

Servers rented through this system can even be added to the public TeamSpeak server directory. Enough to give your community a boost.

The developers have not forgotten the technical part with a host of optimizations:

  • Performance : reduced loading times and better rendering management
  • Stability : fixed many old bugs
  • Ergonomics : better management of spaces and alignments
  • Multilingual : addition of new languages ​​including Brazilian Portuguese and Mexican Spanish

The management of pinned messages has been reworked, conversation history synchronizes better, and notifications are more reliable. In short, the entire technical core has been optimized.

On the one hand, this version 6.0 finally fills the main gaps that had pushed many users to migrate (screen sharing, modern interface, simplified server management).
