In 1995, I was 13 years old & mldr; I played Sim City 2000 on a 386 equipped with Windows 3.11. I also had a little Qbasic to have fun, “Bill Gates and Microsoft’s saga”From Daniel Ichbiah was my bedside book and I was of course subscribed to Picsou Magazine.

So very young I was, I followed very closely the launch of Windows 95 by dreaming of it every night. It was the future, it was crazy crazy!

Then by dint of dreaming of the sound of Start Me Up of the Rolling Stones, it arrived, pre-installed on a Pentium 100 Compaq. I knew by heart this OS: I had clicked on all the possible files contained in the C: Windows and applied all possible and imaginable tweaks discovered in the magazines of the time.

Suffice to say that it is for me, this whole period an excellent memory.

So find Windows 95 in the form of an app that can be launched from Windows, Linux or Mac, it’s a sacred Madeleine for me. And a good way for the youngest, to see how it was “before”.
